Pole Vault: Spectacular sport with a high technical demand
How does pole vault work?
The pole vaulter stabs the so-called puncture box with his diving stick. This causes the rod to bend and accelerates the knight upwards. To do this, the jumper must assume a position similar to a handstand, with the feet pointing upwards and crossing them first. When crossing the slat, the jumper turns again so that the chest is facing the slat, then pushes off his staff and lands on the mat with his back.
The construction of pole vault facilities
Pole vault systems generally consist of a jump mat or cushion, two jump stands and a crossbar on the jump stands that is skipped. The jumping cushion rests on a slatted frame made of wood or aluminum and has an additional mat layer on the top, the so-called wear mat, which protects the core of the mat and thus extends its lifespan. It protects the main blocks from spike nails and can be replaced inexpensively after long use. To protect against wind and weather, the pole vaulting system is protected by a rain cover when not in use and, at best, by a mobile cover. The pole vault also includes a so-called puncture box, into which the pole vault pole is inserted during the jump. In addition, there are safety measures such as cover rails for the stands, as well as mats on the left and right of the puncture box.
The right pole vault mat for every need
Kübler Sport offers you high quality pole vault mats for every need. Here you will find the right pole vaulting facility, from the simple training mat to the IAAF-certified competition facility. In international competitions, the mat without a cushion must have at least the dimensions 6mx6mx0.80m, for other competitions the mat should not be smaller than 5mx5m for safety reasons. The mats must be at least 2m long for international competitions, here too they should not be less than 1.50m long for safety reasons.
In our shop you will find pole vault mats with different foam core systems. Our Aero pole vault cushion in the hollow chamber system consists of large foam block elements through which hollow channels run that allow the air to escape faster for a soft landing. With our mat Aero WM type B with double hollow chamber system, the channels are arranged transversely to each other for an even softer landing.
For a safe landing and to avoid injuries, the rails of a pole vault system should also be padded with foam mats or so-called rail covers. Blanket mats to the left and right of the puncture box are also essential.
Optimal protection for your pole vault equipment
Our wooden and aluminum slatted frames serve as the optimal basis on which the mat is placed. The additional side brackets for the sturdy aluminum slatted frame also prevent the jumping cushion from slipping.
In order to protect the pole vaulting system and in particular the jumping cushion from rain and dirt, you will also find the right rain protection tarpaulins, as well as mobile covers made of sheet metal or aluminum.
The other elements belonging to a pole vaulting facility can also be found in our online shop. We offer you a large selection of puncture boxes, diving boards, diving stands, bars as well as training and system accessories.
