Volleyballs for training and league operation

What are the differences between indoor volleyballs and beach volleyballs?

Volleyball is played both indoors and outdoors on the sand. In indoor volleyball, two teams of six players compete against each other, in beach volleyball there are only two players per team. That is why the field in the hall is also 9 x 9 meters, in the sand only 8 x 8 meters. The net height is the same and only varies in the distinction between women, men or mixed teams.

The ball also differs: Beach volley balls must have a circumference of 67 cm and have a lower internal pressure. They have a water-repellent and robust surface, so that you can play even in poor weather conditions. A volleyball for the hall is a little smaller with a circumference of 65-67 cm and must weigh between 260-280 grams. The air pressure must be between 294 and 319 mbar. Both balls consist of a rubber bubble, which is surrounded by an outer skin made of leather or plastic. Children and adolescents play with these balls at tournaments and in league operations, but weight-reduced methodology balls are often used in training and with beginners.

DVV certifications

A good volleyball has good flight characteristics, a pleasant surface and is durable. Ideally, it meets the requirements of FIVB or DVV and can be used as an official game ball. Since the respective national associations in Germany conclude their own country contracts for their official game ball, there are a large number of official balls for league operations in Germany. However, all official game balls must be marked with a DVV certification mark. In order to be certified by the DVV, volleyball must comply with the currently applicable FIVB rules, e.g. regarding colors and the maximum internal pressure. Depending on the league, but whether beach volleyball or indoor volleyball, there are three different test marks:

  • DVV: official balls of the German Volleyball Association (DVV) for school and popular sports
  • DVV 1: for league operations above the national associations (Bundesliga, Regionalliga)
  • DVV 2: for league operations within a state association or lower (district league to association league)

Buying the right volleyball

In our range you will find volleyballs for indoor volleyball and beach volleyball from well-known brands such as Molten or Mikasa. In addition to official competition balls, you will also find a large selection of volleyballs and special balls for sports in school sports, clubs and leisure. Regardless of the purpose, every volleyball is a real hit with us, because we attach great importance to modern play equipment with good flight characteristics, which are optimally processed and comply with the official regulations.

Our light and soft volleyballs are ideal for training with children and adolescents or beginners. Thanks to a particularly soft surface, ball contact is much more pleasant for beginners and helps them learn the techniques correctly. Recreational players will also find soft and robust balls for their needs.

For tournaments and leagues in indoor volleyball, our range includes a wide range of approved volleyballs with DVV, DVV 1 or DVV 2 certification marks. The Molten V5M5000 made of soft synthetic leather has, in addition to particularly good playing properties, a unique surface for increased grip and a special Flistatec® technology for particularly stable flight behavior. You will also find the official CEV Volleyball Champions League match ball in our range.

If you buy volleyballs for training and school use in the hall, you can also choose from a wide range: here you will find both soft volleyballs for physical education as well as various training balls such as the ball with increased weight for ball training or special balls for that Attack and block training.

You will also find the right ball for beach volleyballs. In addition to the Mikasa Beach Champ VLS300, the official beach game ball from international tournaments and championships, our range also includes other high-quality beach volleyballs for league and tournament operations by Mikasa or Molten. We also offer soft beach volleyballs for school use, training and beginners, but we also offer high quality beach volleyballs such as the Kübler Sport beach volleyball FUN or the Molten beach volleyball 2500 for exciting leisure matches in grassroots sports.
