Dodgeball

Dodgeball is one of the most popular ball games in physical education. Since 2012, the DTB (German Gymnastics Federation) has established official rules and championships for women and girls. A game of dodgeball is played in two sets. A team consists of 12 players (7 field players, 1 baseline player, and 4 substitute players). According to the DTB rules, the playing field has a length of 18 m and a width of 9 m (in the age group up to 13 years, the baseline is shortened to 7 m), divided into two team fields by a center line, i.e., 9 x 9 m per field. According to the rules of the German Gymnastics Federation, dodgeballs are hollow balls with a soft shell and a weight between 320 and 380 grams. The circumference of the ball must be between 62 and 68 cm. For students, there are special dodgeballs weighing between 280 and 300 grams. The objective of dodgeball is to hit all the opposing players.
