Swimming paddles are buoyancy aids that are worn on the forearm and hand. They give the child a sensation of buoyancy that is closer to the natural breaststroke movement than with conventional swimming aids. They are used for learning the breaststroke movement. Suitable for children aged 3 years and up to a maximum of 40 kg.

The idea behind the swim paddle

The original idea behind the development of the swim paddles and the booklet was to provide parents with a tool and a guide to help their child learn to swim. This means we assumed that children would have time to engage with the topic through the children's story and to put on the swim paddles in the living room to reduce any inhibitions. In the daily course routine, there is not always time to get children accustomed to a new swimming aid. Due to the very low buoyancy, it may happen especially with absolute beginners that the swim paddles are not sufficient for the child to stay above water. Therefore, the booklet describes the type of assistance needed, ultimately, children will need support from an adult. This complicates the use in swimming classes. However, we have found that especially when transitioning away from the aid, towards the end of a course, the swim paddles can also be used in larger groups. For many children, there is a decisive "click" when they feel the buoyancy on their hands, which they can then transfer to swimming freely.
