Cold application: Place the compress in the freezer or deep freezer for 2 hours. Before applying to the skin, wrap the compress in a cloth.

Heat application: Heat the compress in water at a maximum temperature of 80°C for about 5 minutes. Alternatively, the compress can be heated in the microwave at 500 watts. Do not heat the compress in the microwave for longer than 2 minutes. Before applying to the skin, wrap the compress in a cloth.
