With a revolutionary concept, Mikasa has developed a new water polo ball that is based on state-of-the-art technology and places a great emphasis on sustainability in the use of materials. The new ball, officially named WP550C, has been constructed with a new surface texture. Thanks to a now "polished" surface, no water film forms anymore, thus ensuring significantly improved grip when wet compared to its predecessor model, which had a rough, unpolished surface texture. This new technology is also known as the Buffing process. By using a special "foam" material and the Buffing process, the total volume of rubber waste has been reduced by up to 99%.
