JOOLA® Table Tennis Balls FLIP 40+

The Joola table tennis balls FLIP are seamless plastic balls with great playing characteristics and top quality. According to the latest rules, the balls do not contain celluloid. Although they do not have ITTF approval, they are still equipped with an outstanding price-to-quality ratio, making them perfect for club sports as training and youth balls. The table tennis balls have the required diameter of 40 mm and are available in white. The TT balls are only sold in boxes of 72.

Why are more and more plastic balls being used in table tennis?

From 1 July 2014, only plastic balls, so-called plastic balls, are allowed to be used in international tournaments. The reason for this rule change by the ITTF was, on the one hand, that the raw material celluloid is only available in limited quantities, and on the other hand, the material is highly flammable and was always classified as 'dangerous goods' during transport. This required additional effort to ensure the widespread availability of table tennis balls.

What is the difference between table tennis balls with and without seams?

Table tennis balls with seams are made using the traditional manufacturing method by gluing together two half shells. In the case of seamless table tennis balls, the ball is literally blown up inside a mould.
