Javelin throw

Javelin throwing is one of the throwing events in athletics. A javelin consists of three parts: shaft, head, and cord grip. The shaft can be solid or hollow and must form a continuous unit. The head is always made of metal and usually has a tip with a maximum angle of 40 degrees. The cord grip covers the center of gravity of the javelin, must not increase the shaft diameter by more than 8 mm, and must have a uniform thickness.
