The beach handball line system approved by the associations EHF & IHF is designed for the official playing field size of 27 x 12 meters. The lines are made of soft foam tubes (Ø 4.5 cm) and connected with internal ropes. The line system is secured with elastic carabiner hooks and anchors in the sand or on other soft surfaces. The soft foam elements are designed to prevent injuries. However, when installing the lines, it is important to ensure that they are half buried in the sand. The beach handball field is always the same size for men, women, and youth, including official tournaments by the German Handball Federation (DHB).

How to play beach handball?

Beach handball is now almost part of every summer preparation as it combines conditioning, due to the deep sand surface, with fun and strengthens group dynamics. Women, men, and children are increasingly enjoying this sport. Beach handball is derived from traditional indoor handball and is played with special beach handballs. You can of course also buy these from us. Like many other beach sports, beach handball is played barefoot. The rules are slightly modified compared to traditional handball. Bouncing the ball, also due to the sandy surface, is not allowed. For example, the goal area is rectangular instead of circular. In addition, goals can count for more than one point if they are scored, for example, by the goalkeeper or with a Kempa trick.

Since 2015, there have been (again) official tournaments and the German Beach Handball Tour organized by the German Handball Federation (Deutscher Handball Bund).
