Vibration Training Devices
Vibration trainer for full body training
If you want to do something good for your health and improve your quality of life, you can use so-called swing trainers. Gentle and effective full-body training is an important part of physiotherapy, fitness training and rehabilitation.
What are vibration trainers?
The swing trainer offers the opportunity to train the entire musculature of the body in a time-saving and effective manner. While in the well-known vibration training, the devices vibrate in a frequency range from 20 Hertz, the vibration technology starts at one Hertz. The human musculature is only able to process stimuli up to a certain frequency. It is about 7 to 8 oscillations per second. Frequencies that are too fast prevent the muscles from actively participating, they only counteract it. When using a swing trainer, not only are the deep muscles stimulated, coordination and body awareness are also part of the swing training.
In addition to professional vibration trainers, e.g. B. an unstable training platform with waves, which are primarily used in therapeutic practices, there are manual vibrating sticks. In well-equipped fitness studios, they are often part of the equipment. This is a stick about 150 cm long. With its movable ends, it is a popular training device for fitness, prevention and rehabilitation training. To do this, the trainee grasps the swing trainer in the middle with both hands. With slight hand movements he makes it vibrate. If the bar swings, the muscular strength must constantly compensate for these permanent movements.
What is trained with vibration trainers?
The vibration trainer allows the body to be trained holistically. It is used especially in sports to reduce the risk of falls and injuries. The provoked muscle contractions produce an increase in muscle strength and muscle performance. Neck muscles, the muscles in the shoulder and torso area and the back extensor are activated. In addition, the blood circulation is improved and the metabolism is stimulated.
For whom is the vibration training suitable?
Vibration trainers are suitable for anyone who wants to specifically strengthen their torso or core muscles. At the same time, the vibrating stick allows you to work on your own coordination, balance and overall body awareness. And all at the same time. Vibration training with the flexible sticks takes very little time and is particularly time-effective for strength endurance and deep muscles. Whether young, old, big or small, basically everyone can use vibration trainers. However, patients with acute back problems or inflammatory diseases of the spine should discuss vibration training with their doctor beforehand and avoid it if necessary.
The vibration trainer has many positive influences on the whole body. Nevertheless, pregnant women should avoid using a vibrating stick for the last three months.
How is the vibration generated in vibration trainers?
Vibration bars do not vibrate like, for example, a vibration plate. They oscillate at a much slower frequency. It takes precise instruction and some practice to get the bar vibrating and to keep it vibrating throughout the exercises. Beginners find it easier to hold the stick as close to the body as possible. Advanced users, on the other hand, train with outstretched arms.
What should be considered when buying vibration trainers?
Swing trainers are available in different designs, materials and lengths. Since the training device is exposed to high loads, good quality and workmanship are important selection criteria. High-quality oscillating bars oscillate at a frequency of around 4 to 5 Hertz. They only swing to the right and left.
- The material: It should be durable. Fiberglass, a high-quality, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, is particularly suitable. The material absorbs elastic energy and has a high elongation at break, giving the vibration trainer the properties it needs. The handle and end pieces can be made of polyurethane foam or natural rubber. These materials are skin-friendly and easy to disinfect.
- The right length: A basic distinction should be made between sizes for children and adults. Swinging sticks for children should weigh a maximum of 500 g and be around 120 cm long. The optimal swing bar length for adults is between 150 and 160 cm.
- The flexibility: It determines the vibration properties. The more rigid a swing trainer is, the more difficult it is to train with it. In order to learn the right technique well, flexible sticks are recommended for beginners.
- The setting options: With some models it is possible to change the oscillating mass. This influences the vibration behavior of the rod. Additional weights or frequency controllers are used for this. In the rehabilitation area or in therapy applications, the therapists can work individually with their patients.
