Skinfold Thickness Caliper

The Skinfold Caliper is used to measure the subcutaneous body fat of active and passive body mass. It determines the body fat percentage by measuring the skin folds.

To measure, hold the skinfold caliper with one hand and use the other hand to lift the fold of skin being measured. Gently pinch the skinfold with your index finger and thumb to create a fold. Place the caliper on the fold and squeeze it until the arrows on the caliper are aligned. Hold this position and record the value.

The desired skin folds can be measured using the caliper, and the body fat percentage can be calculated based on the results.

It is recommended that a second person performs the measurement to ensure consistent results. Additionally, certain areas may be difficult to measure with the caliper on your own. It is advised to have the same person perform the measurement with the caliper each time, as different individuals may apply different pressure, which could affect the accuracy of the results.
