Ergometers are the perfect partner for cardiovascular or endurance training with a high calorie consumption. Especially in competitive and rehab sports, the training sessions on these fitness equipment or a bicycle ergometer are highly valued for their ability to train on a watt basis. But other athletes also appreciate the joint-friendly indoor equipment for their endurance and cardio training. At Kübler Sport you will find modern exercise bikes and exercise bikes, recumbent bikes and cross ergometers for your fitness needs and needs.

High quality & robust ergometer

What is an ergometer?

Ergometers are not only an ideal training device for joint-friendly endurance training (low stress on the joints), but also these devices from performance physiology are used to determine and measure various performance data. This additional data can complement the training goals of the trainee and provide a clear advantage over e.g. a treadmill. Since they are mostly used in the form of a bicycle (bicycle ergometer), they are often wrongly equated with exercise bikes. Compared to an exercise bike, ergometers have the advantage and can offer the exerciser various performance parameters, such as specify and measure the heart rate or pulse measurement. They are connected to electricity so that an electronic display shows the most important performance data (e.g. measurement of the pulse). A very precise setting of a performance target or training target is also possible with the ergometer during a training session, since the resistance is set in watts. With ergometers you can also choose between a variety of programs with different intensities, functions or goals. In addition to good training for the body, which is monitored with specific data (e.g. measurement of pulse), exercising or exercising on an ergometer is associated with high calorie consumption.

Buying the right ergometer

When buying an ergometer, you should make sure that the seat, pedals and handle can be adjusted vertically and horizontally to your individual height for an ergonomic posture. The pedals, the handlebars and the saddle or all models of the ergometers in our range are suitable for training every body or for every body size. The display of the training computer should of course be easy to read and offer different training programs for watt-based training and pulse measurement. With an ergometer, the flywheel mass is braked with a magnetic field via a braking system. The brake system brakes via an electrical coil (eddy current brake). The resistance can be individually adjusted up and down and thus allows speed-independent training.

At Kübler Sport you will find ergometers from different brands such as Kettler, U.N.O or Nautilus. In our online shop you will find both exercise bikes in the form of a bicycle (exercise bike) such as the Nautilus® exercise bike U628, as well as recumbent exercise bikes and exercise bikes in the form of a seat bike like the KETTLER exercise bike RE7. These are also called recumbent bikes. You will also find cross ergometers such as the ERGO-Fit Cross 4000, which are based on the functionality of a cross or elliptical trainer, in our range.

Exercise bikes, ergometers, cross trainers: what are the differences?

In addition to the ergometer, exercise bikes and cross trainers are very popular devices for endurance training. Visually, an ergometer hardly differs from an exercise bike due to its design as a bicycle (bicycle ergometer), but this does not offer the possibility of precisely adjusting the resistance to wattages (speed independence). Exercise bikes are very popular for endurance training goals because they are easy to use and very effective.

Cross trainers simulate the natural movement of Nordic walking or jogging, both in terms of legs and arms. Visually, the training on the cross trainer is similar to cross-country skiing. The additional arm insert activates the cardiovascular system and leg muscles as well as the muscles in the back, abdomen and shoulder girdle or chest strap. Elliptical trainers differ from elliptical trainers in that the flywheel or the flywheel mass is usually attached to the front when the elliptical trainer runs smoothly. The cross trainer also offers a larger range of motion than an elliptical trainer.
