Everything about the running disciplines - for school, training and competition
What kind of running disciplines are there?
Long distance, medium and sprint routes, hurdles and obstacles, as well as relay races, road and cross-country runs and walking are the running disciplines of athletics. Sprint routes are all routes up to and including the 400m distance (60m, 100m, 200m, 400m). The medium distances include the distances between 800m and 1500m or one mile (800m, 1000m, 1500m, 1 mile). Long distances are all running distances from 3000m that take place on the running track (3000m, 5000m, 10.000m). Road and cross-country runs collect all stretches from 10 km (10 km, half marathon, marathon, 100 km) that take place on the road or all lengths of the cross-country run. Track lengths of 100m, 110m and 400m were specified for the hurdle run, the obstacle course has a specified distance of 3000m. Walking is carried out over the distances of 20km and 50km and can take place both on the road and on the train. Relay competitions are usually held on the Olympic routes 4x100m and 4x400m, but there are also other routes such as 3x800m or 3x1000m.
Starting blocks are required for all routes up to and including the 400m. They allow the runner to start quickly and vigorously and therefore accelerate faster. In our range of starting blocks you will find starting blocks for school and leisure sports as well as models with IAAF certification for high-class athletics competitions. Starting boxes are set up for every running route that is started in lanes. They not only show the numbering of the lane, but also false starts and warnings. You will also find start flaps for the starting signal for runs for training or at school.
Hurdles and obstacles
Our wide range of exercise and training hurdles leaves nothing to be desired for both beginners and competition organizers. While the pendulum practice hurdle is also used in children's athletics, you will also find competition hurdles for your athletics competition according to the official IAAF regulations.
At Kübler Sport you can choose between baton and baton made of wood, plastic or metal in a variety of bright colors that are easy to recognize for runners and spectators during the race. We offer you IAAF-certified models as well as smaller and lighter relay baton for children or relay games.
