There are many factors to consider for long jumps: not only landing in the landing pit makes a good jump, the flight phase and especially the jump itself are also important. If the take off board is also hit well when jumping, top marks can be expected. At Kübler Sport you will find the right take off board for your long jump system, whether for school sports, training or competition.

The right take-off board for an exciting competition

How is a take-off board constructed?

The central component of a long jump system is not only the jump pit and a runway, the take-off board is also elementary. While children up to the age group of 12 years are allowed to jump in a zone, the following applies in athletics from up to 14 years at the latest: measurements are taken from the take-off board. The take-off board consists of two basic parts, the white take-off surface and an inserted strip, which is mostly black. This inserted strip is replaced by a separate inserted board with a plastic edge for long jump or triple jump competitions. Plasticine is a mass that is used to control overstepping. If a jumper steps over, his shoe leaves a recognizable imprint in the plasticine.

The take-off board should be set into the ground at ground level and made of solid material so that spikes can be held securely. With us you will find a large selection of take-off boards: classically made of wood or made of durable, maintenance-free and weather-resistant GRP or rubber.

 The “blind board”

In order to protect the take-off board or not to disturb the start of the jumpers when long and triple jump use the same lane for their start, there is the option of using a blind bar instead of the entire take-off board. The blind bar has a tartan surface and is inserted at ground level into the run-up track just like the regular bar. It does not differ from the tartan around it and therefore does not interfere with the movements of the jumpers.

The right take-off board for every need

Whether for school sports, for training or for athletics competitions, long jump or triple jump, we have the right take-off board for your pit. Choose between different installation depths and widths of the beams, as well as between different models and materials such as GRP, rubber or wood. These take-off boards can be used on both sides, the side with the blind bar or with the normal take-off board can be used as required.
